I am proud to be a part of the health team at Headwaters Wellness where different professionals can work together to aid individuals in their physical, spiritual and emotional well-being.
My Therapeutic Approach
Social work is a profession which focuses on helping individuals, families and communities enhance individual and collective well-being. The profession aims to help people develop skills and abilities to use their own resources and those of the community to resolve the problem at hand.
I draw from a number a different approaches, mainly Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment theory, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Trauma Informed. The counselling experience can be a chance to step away from the rush and struggles of life and provide an opportunity for healing and self discovery by developing new understanding about a situation and/or creating a plan to overcome obstacles. This process can allow one to achieve increased peace and contentment as well as create clarity and vision in one’s life.
